“i want to drive a car that doesn’t break down all the time”
“i want to one day consider buying a place instead of renting”
“i’d like to not be in so much debt”
we are the least entitled generation but we get the most shit
The truth in this tho
The other day, I started thinking about all the things I would do if I had a ton of money. They were almost all about paying off debt, buying a house, fixing my car, and getting more education for a better job. The most frivolous thing was getting a dog.
People say that we act entitled - apparently it’s entitled to want to live debt-free and feel financially secure.
Kilgrave isn’t just a rapist. He’s every abusive ex-boyfriend. The way he gaslights Jessica by saying everything he’s doing is her fault is a classic abuser manipulation. His insistence that she look a certain way for him. The way he blames her for his outbursts. The stalking. Forcing her to take photos of herself. Even his return is every survivor’s nightmare: finally gathering up the courage to leave, only to be hunted down. But the fact that Kilgrave can’t change who Jessica is, even if he can take over her life, is a powerful message.
Jessica Jones is a brilliant look at what it’s like to live with trauma. Everyone’s essential character is tempered by their pain, but their different personalities explain the vast range of reactions they have to their experiences. Some blame the wrong people, and are consumed by misguided revenge. Jessica uses it motivate her heroics. Hope grasps at the few things in her life that she still has control over. Trish gets smarter and stronger. Malcolm becomes more caring. Robyn stays mean but becomes sympathetic. Jessica Jones delves into a complicated area too often glossed over by other media: what it means to survive, who does it, and how.
Parks & Rec, Pretty Little Liars and the Fast & Furious films all exist in the same universe
And SCANDAL WTF
Oh jeez, SCANDAL….
….and BATTLESHIP too, apparently. It’s a goddamn conspiracy
Oh god. He’s on REVENGE too. How deep does this rabbit-hole go….
Oh my god. DEXTER.
THE ACTUAL NEWS
I read an interview with this guy (who is a real news anchor), and he said he told his acting agent that he is ONLY interested in parts where he plays a new anchor. This is no coincidence. This is by design.
Okay, but it’s actually super-important that Claire Hummel changed the portrait of Pocahontas after being criticized by native activists for the first Pocahontas’s age/sexualization etc.
